Chance Pharma, Huadong Medicine Partner to Commercialize CXG87 in China

Chance Pharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to the research and development of innovative inhalation therapies, announced that it has reached an exclusive commercialization agreement with Huadong Medicine (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Huadong Medicine Co., Ltd., to commercialize CXG87 in Mainland China. Under the terms of the agreement, Chance Pharma, as the MAH (Marketing Authorization Holder), will be responsible for the research and development, registration, manufacturing, and supply of the CXG87. Chance will receive an upfront fee, regulatory and commercial milestone payments, and a share of sales profits. Huadong Medicine will be responsible for the commercialization and marketing of CXG87 in mainland China. CXG87 is an improved therapy of budesonide/formoterol powder. It is a Class 2.2 new drug independently developed by Chance Pharma for the treatment of respiratory diseases such as asthma. Currently, the Phase III clinical trial for the asthma indication has completed enrollment of all subjects, and the new drug application is expected to be submitted in the first half of 2026. Novo Nordisk Strengthens Obesity and Diabetes Portfolio with Akero Therapeutics Acquisition

Novo Nordisk announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Akero Therapeutics, Inc. (Akero), a publicly held clinical-stage company developing innovative treatments for patients with serious metabolic diseases marked by a high unmet medical need. Akero’s fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) analogue efruxifermin (EFX) is a potentially best-in-class treatment for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). EFX is currently in phase 3 development for the treatment of patients with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis (F2-F3) and patients with cirrhosis (F4). Strategic and portfolio fitThe acquisition reflects Novo Nordisk’s long-term strategy to develop innovative and differentiated medicines and treat millions of more people living with diabetes, obesity and their associated comorbidities. PureHealth Completes €800M Acquisition of Majority Stake in Hellenic Healthcare Group

PureHealth Holding PJSC, the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, announced the successful completion of the acquisition of its 60% stake in Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG), Greece and Cyprus's leading private healthcare provider, for a total consideration of EUR 800 million. Labcorp and Roche Join Forces to Accelerate Digital Pathology and AI-Driven Diagnostics

Gilead and Health Hope Pharma Sign Global Agreement for Encequidar

Health Hope Pharma Limited announced that it has entered into a global licensing and collaboration agreement with Gilead Sciences, Inc. ("Gilead") for encequidar, a first-in-class P-glycoprotein ("P-gp") inhibitor in the field of virology. HHP is currently exploring the potential of using encequidar to develop oral drug formulations across multiple fields. The most advanced program of HHP is oral paclitaxel combined with encequidar in the field of oncology, targeting to replace intravenous paclitaxel in chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer. HHP targets to recruit the first patients for its global phase III clinical study for sites in the U.S. and Hong Kong SAR, respectively, by the fourth quarter of 2025. Under the agreement, HHP and Hanmi Pharm ("Hanmi") will grant Gilead exclusive global rights to encequidar within the field of virology. In addition, HHP and Hanmi will provide drug supply, share technical know-how, and participate as key project partners. HHP and Hanmi will each receive an upfront payment and are eligible to receive development, regulatory and sales milestones in addition to low single-digit royalties on net sales. Prof .
