VR Health, a leading provider of Occupational Health Services, has launched its operations in Gujarat, aiming to empower MSMEs by promoting a healthier and more productive workforce. The company is set to help businesses comply with the Factories Act of 1948,
which mandates regular health check-ups for factory workers, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
Gujarat, home to around 20 lakh MSMEs and a major contributor to India’s industrial growth, presents a key market for VR Health. With a high concentration of factories and industrial workers, particularly in Surat, the state offers a significant opportunity to make a meaningful impact on workplace health and safety. VR Health plans to conduct on-site medical tests for around 1 lakh workers over the next three years, addressing a critical need for regular health assessments.
VR Health provides a comprehensive range of services, including pre-employment and periodic medical check-ups, on-site tests such as vision screening, dental check-up, blood tests, X-rays, ECG, Spirometry, and Audiometry, as well as first aid training and setting up occupational health centers in factories. The company also offers specialized medical tests for food handlers to ensure compliance with food safety standards and will support corporates to organise health camps in line with their CSR mandate.
Dr. Purva Thakkar, Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of VR Health, emphasized, “Ensuring the health and safety of workers is not just a regulatory requirement; it is a moral obligation. Regular health check-ups and early detection of occupational diseases are crucial in safeguarding the well- being of our industrial workforce. At VR Health, we are committed to providing accessible and comprehensive health services that protect workers and enhance productivity.”
Ms. Aarti Chothani, Co-Founder of VR Health, highlighted Gujarat as a focus market, saying, “Gujarat’s thriving MSME sector presents a tremendous opportunity for us to make a meaningful impact. We have ambitious plans to conduct on-site medical tests for around 1 lakh workers in Gujarat over the next three years, with a special focus on Surat’s industrial hubs. Our goal is to empower businesses by ensuring their workforce is healthy and compliant with all medical regulations.”
