MedComms Experts, a global medical communications agency backed by The Brydon Group, announced the acquisition of NexGen Healthcare Communications, a UK-headquartered agency with expertise in integrated medical and commercial communications for life sciences clients.

The acquisition brings together two highly complementary organizations with a shared vision: to empower life sciences companies with precise, effective communication strategies across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Patient Advocacy functions.

"We're thrilled by the partnership," said John Ribble, CEO of MCE. "Together, we offer a powerful blend of strategic insight and scientific excellence, enhanced by a broader range of capabilities. In partnership with our long-tenured staff, we look forward to building on these strengths while harnessing our expanded scale, enhanced resources, and deep subject matter expertise to drive value for our clients."

Commenting on the strategic rationale behind the acquisition, Wesley Portegies, Chief Strategy Officer and Founder of MedComms Experts, said: "With NexGen joining our family, we're unlocking new levels of reach and expertise across Commercial and Patient Engagement functions, while further scaling our presence in the US, UK, and EU. What excites me most is the cultural fit—this isn't just a strategic acquisition; it's a meeting of minds with a singular focus on science, the story, and the strategy."

Richard Evans, Founder of NexGen, added: "Joining together with MCE allows us to scale our work while staying true to our multidisciplinary roots and continuing to offer strategic and creative communications excellence for our clients. We've always aimed to modernize how life sciences companies engage their audiences whether it's a KOL, an internal medical or commercial team, or a patient community. Together with MCE, we're excited to expand that impact globally."

The Brydon Group, a Washington, D.C.-based investment firm, is backing the transaction.

"We're thrilled to support MedComms Experts in its acquisition of NexGen Communications, uniting two high-performing teams with a shared commitment to excellence in medical communications," said Kyle Herman, Principal at The Brydon Group. "This combination strengthens the platform's capabilities, expands its tech-enabled offerings, and positions the business for continued growth and innovation in the years ahead."
