AMFM Healthcare, a national leader in mental health services, is proud to announce the opening of their adult residential mental health treatment facility, A Mission for Michael, in Stillwater, Minnesota. This new location opened its doors on August 18th, marking a significant step in the organization's mission to broaden access to quality, evidence-based mental health care nationwide.
"Expanding into Minnesota is about more than growth," said Ted Guastello, CEO of AMFM Healthcare. "It's about filling in the gap for people who are struggling and ensuring they have access to transformative care that is clinically sophisticated, personally attentive and truly life changing."
Nestled in the serene Stillwater area near the Twin Cities, the new residential sites offer a warm, home-like setting supported by A Mission for Michael's clinical rigor. Each residence houses just six clients at a time, preserving a low client-to-clinician ratio and allowing for highly individualized care.
A Mission for Michael is recognized for its depth of clinical expertise, offering high-acuity capable admissions and comprehensive assessments from the outset of care. The program's approach includes a dedicated track for medication titration and stabilization, continuous crisis intervention, and the use of innovative safety measures such as wearable technology for early risk detection. Clinicians receive specialized training to address a wide range of diagnoses, including complex co-occurring conditions, and employ a full spectrum of evidence-based therapies. This combination of advanced training, integrated care, and research-driven practices supports precise, individualized treatment and measurable outcomes for each patient.
Residences feature spacious living areas, in-home fitness rooms and an on-site chef accommodating individual dietary needs, designed to support whole-person wellness. The facility will provide 24/7 care by Beck Institute-trained clinicians and offer evidence-based therapies for a range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, psychosis and suicidality.
The Stillwater facility joins AMFM Healthcare's national continuum of care known for measurable success. According to the organization's 2024 Outcomes Report:
- 85% of clients felt treatment improved areas of their lives
- 84% of clients found the skills they learned applicable after treatment
This data reflects AMFM Healthcare's commitment to long-term outcomes through trauma-informed programming, strong aftercare plans and a culturally responsive, LGBTQIA+ inclusive environment.
"Every individual we serve deserves care that's as complex and resilient as they are," added Guastello. "Minnesota deserves that care. And we're proud to be the ones to provide it."
