PDRadiopharma Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of PeptiDream, announced that its subsidiary, PDRadiopharma, has received formal approval from the Kazusa Akademia Park Research Institute and Related Facilities Promotion Council to move forward with the development of a new manufacturing facility at Kazusa Akademia Park.
PDRadiopharma has entered into an agreement with Chiba Prefecture and the Kazusa Akademia Park Research Institute and Related Facilities Promotion Council regarding the construction of a new radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facility within Kazusa Akademia Park. The approval application was originally submitted by PeptiDream and PDRadiopharma
to the Chiba Prefecture Government in December 2024.
PeptiDream and PDRadiopharma are jointly focused on the discovery of innovative radiopharmaceuticals leveraging PeptiDream’s proprietary PDPS® (Peptide Discovery Platform System) technology to discover and develop innovative radiopharmaceuticals. In anticipation of the launch of therapeutics and theranostics utilizing next-generation
radionuclides, PeptiDream and PDRadiopharma plan to expand their manufacturing capabilities beyond the existing PDRadiopharma Chiba Plant. The new facility will meet international standards and support domestic supply, as well as future exports to the AsiaPacific region.
“The formal approval of the location and the signing of this agreement represent an important milestone in the construction of our new manufacturing facility,” said Patrick C. Reid, CEO of PeptiDream. “As we continue to expand our pipeline of next-generation targeted radiopharmaceuticals, this facility will provide essential manufacturing capabilities to support their future commercialization and supply to patients in Japan and around the world.”
“Kazusa Akademia Park is an ideal location for our new facility, providing strong connectivity with PeptiDream, our PET laboratories in Kawasaki Chiba Plant and both Haneda and Narita airports,” said Masato Murakami, Executive Vice President of PeptiDream and President of PDRadiopharma. " We are deeply grateful for the support of Chiba Prefecture and the
relevant organizations in reaching this important milestone. We view this new facility as a key foundation for the future commercialization and global expansion of our radiopharmaceuticals. From this new site, we will build the capabilities to rapidly and reliably deliver our innovative radiopharmaceuticals to as many patients as possible”.
