OrthoArizona, the largest physician-led orthopedic group in the Southwest, opened another flagship location: a $25 million, 50,000-square-foot orthopedic center at 9070 W. Glendale Ave., adjacent to Westgate and State Farm Stadium.
The Glendale center combines comprehensive musculoskeletal care, an on-site ambulatory surgery center, physical therapy and advanced imaging including MRI in a single building, carrying patients through the entire journey from first visit to full recovery.
"As a physician-led organization, our decisions start with what patients and providers actually need at the point of care," said Dr. Caleb Behrend, president of OrthoArizona. "Putting the clinic, imaging, surgery and therapy in one building shortens the path from injury to recovery, and it lets our surgeons and therapists work as one team around each patient."
Demand is being driven by the state's demographics and by health care's expanding role in Arizona's economy. More than 19% of Arizona residents are 65 or older, a share projected to reach 22% by 2035, while health care has become the state's largest and fastest-growing employment sector, accounting for one in every three new Arizona jobs, according to the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.
