Description
- Conduct regular EHS inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and company standards.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for occupational health and safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Ergonomics, and Hot Work, ensuring full compliance with Cal/OSHA Title 8 regulations.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
- Manage hazardous waste programs, including waste characterization, disposal, and record-keeping.
- Lead the emergency response team and drills to support emergency preparedness across site.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into daily operations and new projects.
- Provide EHS training and awareness sessions to employees on various topics such as hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment.
- Stay updated on new EHS regulations and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement of EHS programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- 2-5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or life sciences environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, CERS, eVQ, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting EHS inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with EHS activities.
