This internship entails deep material characterization and comparability assessments of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and excipients used in the formulation and manufacture of oral, semi-solid and liquid medicinal products.
Comparability studies are required to assess the impact of product lifecycle changes on material properties and secondary manufacturability (micronization, granulation, mixing, milling and tableting), drug product performance and patient impact.
The material characterization techniques involved in this project will encompass some or all of the following: particle sizing, solid state form determination, powder flow, thermal analysis, particle imaging, moisture sorption and rheological analysis.
In addition to Materials Science and lab work, you will also explore the use of digital technology and GenAI in improving Materials Science work processes and outcomes.
