Description
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling and storage practices.
  • Vehicle/Goods Management: Using bespoke software, tailored to monitor vehicle management as well as tracking of internal parcel movements within the Discovery Centre.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, adhering to safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Quality Control: Inspect goods for damage and verify quantities against shipping documents, reporting any discrepancies to service lead.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized loading bay area, removing debris and ensuring proper storage of materials and equipment.
Qualifications
  • Education: GCSE or equivalent secondary school qualification
  • Experience: 2+ years' experience in a loading bay/warehouse or customer service role within a logistics environment
  • Solid understanding and experience in either goods handling, traffic management or stock control
  • High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid forklift operator certification is a plus.
