Loading and Unloading: Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling and storage practices.
Vehicle/Goods Management: Using bespoke software, tailored to monitor vehicle management as well as tracking of internal parcel movements within the Discovery Centre.
Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, adhering to safety protocols and company procedures.
Quality Control: Inspect goods for damage and verify quantities against shipping documents, reporting any discrepancies to service lead.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized loading bay area, removing debris and ensuring proper storage of materials and equipment.
Qualifications
Education: GCSE or equivalent secondary school qualification
Experience: 2+ years' experience in a loading bay/warehouse or customer service role within a logistics environment
Solid understanding and experience in either goods handling, traffic management or stock control
High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures
Good IT skills required (including Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook)
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
