ABS-1230 is a first-in-class small molecule precision therapy targeting the KCNT1 ion channel for KCNT1-positive epilepsy, a rare genetic developmental and epileptic encephalopathy. The transaction strengthens Jazz's position in rare and severe epilepsies while adding a potentially differentiated clinical-stage asset.
Ipsen also completed its acquisition of Kartos Therapeutics, adding navtemadlin, a late-stage MDM2 inhibitor in Phase III development for myelofibrosis. The acquisition strengthens Ipsen's oncology portfolio and expands its presence in hematologic malignancies through a clinical-stage program.
In cell therapy, IASO Biotechnology completed its acquisition of Singapore-based MediSix Therapeutics. Piramal Pharma completed the acquisition of an additional 40.67% stake in Hyderabad-based Yapan Bio for ₹76 crore ($7.95 million), taking its ownership to 74%. The transaction strengthens Piramal Pharma's biologics CDMO capabilities in vaccines and biologics and expands its integrated large-molecule service offering.
Shanghai Henlius Biotech and Sandoz also expanded their global biosimilars collaboration to cover up to 10 proposed monoclonal antibody and/or antibody-drug conjugate biosimilar products or components. Sandoz will receive exclusive rights outside China for registration and commercialization of the partnered products, while Henlius will support development, manufacturing and supply.
Xcellon Biologics further expanded its CRDMO capabilities by agreeing to acquire a GMP biologics manufacturing facility from NextCure. The transaction is designed to establish Xcellon as an end-to-end CRDMO with capabilities spanning discovery through clinical supply, particularly in bioconjugates and complex biologics.
Advanced Therapies and Targeted Delivery Attract New Investment

CREATE Medicines entered a research collaboration with Monash University and the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences to develop targeted lipid nanoparticle technologies for in vivo immune programming. CREATE will receive a worldwide exclusive license to intellectual property arising from the collaboration.

The partnership will leverage Mediar's fibrosis-focused discovery platform and myofibroblast expertise, with Ono receiving an exclusive option to license worldwide rights to develop and commercialize the programs.
Ratio Therapeutics meanwhile closed a $70 million Series C financing to advance its radiopharmaceutical pipeline. The funding will support its lead program in advanced sarcomas, move a next-generation radioligand therapy candidate into clinical development, expand oncology targets and strengthen manufacturing capabilities.

Northwest Biotherapeutics and Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliance Company (SPIMACO) also signed an MOU to explore collaboration around the approval, commercialization, supply and technology transfer of DCVax-L for glioblastoma in Saudi Arabia. The potential partnership could later expand to other indications and GCC markets.
