UWorld Nursing Adds AI-Powered Remote Proctoring to Learning Platform

UWorld Nursing, a leader in National Council Licensure Examination preparation, has added automated, AI-assisted remote proctoring to its Nursing Learning Platform to help nursing programs protect exam integrity while reducing faculty workloads.

The new capability, powered by Respondus Monitor®, allows nurse educators to administer secure remote assessments without monitoring students in real time or scheduling live proctors. Integrated directly into UWorld Nursing's Learning Platform, the technology identifies potential testing irregularities for faculty review, helping programs maintain rigorous assessment standards as more testing moves outside the classroom.

The expansion addresses a growing challenge in nursing education: maintaining rigorous assessment standards as programs adopt more online and hybrid learning models while navigating persistent faculty shortages. According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN®), the national full-time nursing faculty vacancy rate was 7.2% for the 2025–26 academic year, leaving many programs with limited resources to manage additional responsibilities such as live exam proctoring.

By integrating Respondus Monitor into its existing Learning Platform, UWorld gives nurse educators a way to administer secure remote assessments without scheduling live proctors or requiring students to access a separate testing system.

"The future of nursing education depends on finding smarter ways to support the people preparing our next generation of nurses," said Jeffrey A. Elliott, Chief Operating Officer at UWorld. "As programs face growing demands and limited faculty resources, technology will help educators focus less on administrative responsibilities and more on teaching, mentoring and student success. This is another step toward giving nurse educators the tools and flexibility they need to prepare a strong, capable nursing workforce."
