Manage operations across Building 216 laboratories in Slough, serving as the primary contact for scientists on materials flow, facilities maintenance, equipment availability and process optimisation
Maintain laboratory operational efficiency by coordinating with facility maintenance suppliers and equipment maintenance teams with minimal disruption
Identify equipment for disposal or storage and assessing lab space for optimised ways of working
Contribute to new equipment procurement, assisting impact analysis with HSE&W, IT and Facilities and maintaining an up-to-date inventory of UK Research equipment
Act as an in-the-lab point of contact for the integration of new equipment / move of equipment
Support scientists with equipment maintenance schedules and Maintenance Portal updates
Work with scientists and local teams to support the purchase, storage and tracking of biological samples, including assisting with sample audits
Liaise with scientists, providing help in the processing of material shipments
Provide on-the-ground logistics assistance in preparation for a site move to Windlesham (lab supply and samples)
Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on equipment, change management and optimising people processes
The role will be a mix of in and around the Labs and/or sat at a desk.
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent laboratory experience.
Experience:
Previous experience at a senior laboratory technician level or above in a multi-disciplinary laboratory environment.
Proven ability to partner with other teams and suppliers, delivering results in a matrix environment.
Experience managing multiple internal and external partners/stakeholders.
Excellent customer service skills and a collaborative work style.
Knowledge of SHE requirements and GxP regulations.
