Implements defined goals and objectives aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan of Action and other strategic initiatives within the HIV therapeutic area covering treatment and prevention.
Anticipates obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolves them in a collaborative manner.
Works collaboratively with Gilead personnel in Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Clinical Research, Global Safety and Global Medical Affairs.
The incumbent travels to appointments, meetings and conferences on a frequent and regular basis, occasionally with short notice.

Responds to on- and off-label clinical inquiries regarding marketed or developmental Gilead products.
Develops and presents complex scientific and clinical data related to Gilead products to health care providers and other internal and external stakeholders, as requested.
Disseminates scientific information, as requested, including medical education materials, slide decks, publications, etc. to support clinical practice.
Communicates insights regarding HCP perceptions of the HIV treatment and prevention landscape, marketed Gilead and competitor products, and emerging pipeline products.
Attends and reports back on National and International conferences, as requested. Participates in internal Gilead key abstract identification and critical evaluation of key scientific information presented at the conference.
Reviews current and emerging literature and communicates, as requested, with HCPs, and to internal Gilead colleagues.
KOL Development:
Establishes, develops and maintains strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators and healthcare professionals at academic and non-academic settings.
Identifies and develops regional and national opinion leader advocates for Gilead products through personal contacts and on-site visits.
Connects external HCP with internal Gilead colleagues to further education and research collaborations.
Creates connections between external HCPs to foster education, research and patient care.
Research/Data Generation Support:
Supports Gilead clinical operations through site/investigator identification and liaising regarding recruitment and enrollment challenges.
Supports investigator-sponsored and collaborative research through liaising with investigators on alignment with Gilead strategic priorities and data gaps, and presenting potential study ideas to internal review committees.
Identifies publication opportunities and facilitates development of publications as requested.
Qualifications
Advanced health sciences degree (M.D., Pharm. D., PhD are preferred) with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
Experience in HIV and/or infectious disease therapeutic area preferred, but not required.
Advanced interpersonal skills including demonstrated proficiency in building relationships with opinion leaders in health care professions, and with patient advocacy groups, and the ability to network within the health care community.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong scientific and business acumen.
Excellent project management ability and organizational skills, including the management of multiple priorities and resources, and high attention to detail.
Excellent judgment and personal initiative are required.
Must have knowledge of and be willing to comply with all regulatory/compliance policies.
Ability to travel 70% of the time; domestic and international travel is required, including potential attendance at conferences which may include occasional weekend travel.
Bilingual (French and English) candidates are preferred, but not required.
