• Developing and executing agronomic operational plans to achieve performance goals and promote high performance culture in area of responsibility.
• Actively seek out suitable new technology that can be applied to improve profitability & sustainability of the farming & harvesting operations (both Wilmar farms and other cane grower suppliers). Incorporate suitable technology into the processes of recording and monitoring agronomic inputs and their impact on productivity.
• Identifying suitable varieties and actively engage with Wilmar farms management team to establish seedcane plots and planting of clean material to be used as seedcane sources.
• Developing and delivering annual and five-year nutrient and pest management plans to meet agronomic, legislative and budgetary requirements.
• Developing and direct irrigation scheduling
• Monitoring water use and irrigation scheduling using the program IrrigWeb

The ideal candidate for this role should have tertiary qualifications or training in Agriculture, coupled with hands-on experience in agricultural cropping and harvesting systems.

Possession of FertCare Level C Accreditation or a higher level is advantageous, along with ChemCert Accreditation or an equivalent qualification.

Ideally, these qualifications would be complemented by previous experience in GPS use and operations, including rate controllers, and a working knowledge of farm recording software (Trimble AG).
