Description
- Strategy & Execution
- Co-create annual APAC Regional business plan
- Jointly accountable for the achievement of the APAC region Revenue and Profit targets for 2022, for Abcam’s Catalogue products
- Develop a sales strategy for Distribution Partners to maximize growth opportunities for both Abcam and the Distribution Partner
- Agreeing annual performance plan with Distribution partners, including regular review and course correction if required
- Developing a deep understanding of existing and potential Distribution Partners across the APAC region
- Successfully integrate the product range and distribution partners into the Abcam offering for BioVision & any subsequent acquisitions
- Optimizing team structure across countries within the region
- Define Abcam’s value proposition for Distribution partners
- Working in collaboration with Sales Director – Biotech & Pharma, APAC the Sales Director – Academia, APAC and the APAC regional marketing team to communicate Abcam’s Biotech & Pharma and Academic value proposition to end users through both Abcam and Distribution Partner marketing materials, promotions and events
- Facilitate sharing of end user data from Distribution Partners to enable Abcam and the Distribution Partner to generate more demand, together
- Facilitate end-user engagement with Abcam in Distributor led countries
- Define what “Go Direct” means for each Distributor lead country
- Manage business & legal agreements with distributors
- Support training of distributors sales & marketing teams
- Provide “Voice of the customer” to Abcam Global as well as across region
- Leadership
- Build, lead, inspire, motivate and engage the Distribution Partners Sales & Marketing teams to deliver Abcam’s vision, strategy and plan
- Lead successful interfaces between teams within across Sales, Marketing, Mission Operations, Supply Chain & Logistics
- Take a lead role in maintaining a culture of customer centricity
- Fully and visibly support our Global Diversity and Inclusion agenda
- Team Development
- Lead, inspire and motivate team of Channel Managers
- Create a performance culture within team via regular business reviews
- Create a personal development culture via regular reviews, talent mapping and succession planning

Qualifications
- MSc or Ph.D. in Biology or related fields
- More than five years of experience in managing Distribution Partners in the Life Science market, ideally within APAC region
- Excellent in managing customer interface and relationship both at scientific end-user level, decision making level and procurement levels
- Be a visionary and strategic leader with the ability to build, motivate, inspire a world class team to achieve challenging goals and targets
- Possess a proven track record of driving business global growth and competitive differentiation with a strong customer orientation
- Have first class oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal, relationship building and presentation skills in English
- Being able to speak with distributors and Abcamers in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin would be helpful but not necessary
